Thanks for the tip qwery123 - will give it a go on my Nokia 6.1 plus - its been relentlessly killing off a diabetes monitoring app that I use on it for my daughter.  Will have to wait till I get it repaired though - the power socket got fiddlier and fiddlier until it simply doesn't charge now whatever I do.  Hopefully the whole phones not a right-off.

I have come across this

https://dontkillmyapp.com/nokia

To fix this issue, please do the following:

  • Go to Phone settings > Apps > See all apps.
  • Tap on the right top corner menu > Show system.
  • Find Power saver app in the list, select it and Force close. It will remain stopped until the next restart.

From now on, background apps should work normally and use the standard Android battery optimizations.

Still 3rd party alarm clocks or any task scheduling of foreground tasks at a particular time won’t work. We do not have any solution for this at the moment UPDATE: in our preliminary tests it seems that force stopping or uninstalling the Power saver app also fixes alarms and starting of foreground services.

Alternative solution for tech-savvy users:

Nokia 1 (Android Go)

Uninstall the com.evenwell.emm package via the following adb commands:

adb shell
pm uninstall --user 0 com.evenwell.emm

Other Nokia models

Uninstall the com.evenwell.powersaving.g3 package via the following adb commands:

adb shell
pm uninstall --user 0 com.evenwell.powersaving.g3

Is it normal for the android 1 updates to be this slow? i have a 6.1 and am still on the February update?

I assumed that android one devices would get the monthly android patch within that month.

Or am i expecting too much?

Us 6.1ers usually get them late in the month, but apparently it's more than just the Google security patch this time - an actual Nokia upgrade (downloads for other models have been a few hundred MBs, instead of the around 100Mb for a security patch).

Busy installing Google Security Patch 2019-04.

Did anybody experience any slowness / hanging since the last update?

Is anybody having Bluetooth issues?

My headset seems to be cutting out during audio play & does not play the audio of voice calls.

Some headsets and headphones support different codecs - you can for some of those tap on the cog wheel after the device name in the Bluetooth list and enable/disable some of them (on my Huawei I see this for my Panasonic NC headphones but not for my Bose ones). If I leave the setting enabled on my Panasonic NC connection the sounds breaks up a lot in some places - in the office mainly. If I turn that off the connection is perfect. Check if you have this.

I think you mean these options?

  • Phone calls
  • Media audio
  • Contact sharing

No, I have not tried to turn these off, but the same problem happens on two different headsets.

  • I listen to audio on the headset
  • I hear the phone ring via the headset
  • I answer the call (mostly on the phone, sometimes via the headset)
  • The call connects
  • I can't hear anything in my headset
  • Try to change the call audio output from Bluetooth to phone or speaker & it fails, stays in Bluetooth mode.
  • Switch off the headset to disconnect & still can't change the audio output.

No, there would be options for Sound Quality and codecs. If you don't have that, disregard...

Has anyone seen any sign on Android 10 for the Nokia 7 Plus (TA-1055) yet?

I've not seen any updates since November.

Android 10 and 10 SP1 are listed here though

Got a 7 Plus and seen no Android 10. From this article it seems like it should have been available by now.

I noticed that and some others.  I guess we all have to wait a bit longer.
