Flashing the top firmware requires root and root voids warranty correct (technically if you get caught).

viperguy: First question I'm wondering about, does anyone have recommendations regarding mkv playback...damned if I can get anything to play and my DLNA server is on the fritz for some reason (to be sorted after I build my new HTPC)
Foo: Just picked up my replacement SGS III - the first had a couple of stuck pixels. Just charging it up before I do the pixel test :-)

I'm about to fire off an email to WHS about my screen too. I have already rooted so I suspect I'll have to go in-store to show the problem with the screen (under dark conditions - which is how I use it in the morning while others sleep in).
I'll have to un-root it. Have yet to find out if there's a method to un-root, or I have to flash the stock ROM to it.
Hope your new one is good to go :)
