From that page...

NOTE: Unfortunately, this script won't work with the latest revision of TF101 (B70)

Yep I have the B70.

I'd just have to do it a different way

I'm not going to do it quite yet, I want to get used to the thing first. The only reason I can think of to root it is for ad blocking, I can live with ads for now. Maybe chrome on android has an adblock extension... i'll see.

so how did the sleeve shopping go?
Id like to pick one up this weekend. there is a targus zamba; case logic vls110  or an stm xs glove on the net

I have an Everki 10.1" commute, designed for my old netbook, fits the width of the tablet nicely, also takes the charger and eventually the keyboard.  however if you don't want to carry the charger/keyboard round, it might not be that good

I like the idea of a handle but can I ask why you think it wont be so good if you're not carrying charger/keyboard round?

Hey all, I've also joined the Asus Transformer society.....got it a couple of days ago and have had a lot of fun mucking about so far. Got the 16Gb version and the keyboard/dock. Now I'm on the lookout for a sleeve/case too. Gotta decide what I want first (as noted above, do I want to carry around keyboard and charger as well?). I do like the idea of something small and snug, but then I also like the idea of having the keyboard and charger at all times too..... Argh!

The pad battery seems to last ages, so the charger shouldn't be necessary, especially with the extra battery in the keyboard.

I got a Case Logic case from JB Hifi, it fits the tab well, and might fit a keyboard. It has a small pouch for accessories. There are netbook cases that might be a better fit if you want to carry the keyboard around too.

I've got one of those case logic ones too (at least it sounds the same). It fits the keyboard and tab together really nicely and I can also fit in the charger for times when I think I might need it (which is very rarely if I remember to charge it up the night before).

Yeah good point about the charger. If I'm going away for a while the charger can just go in the rest of the luggage. I guess the main point is to get the tablet (and maybe the keyboard) from place to place on a daily basis.
Might go to JB and have a look then. They also generally have the TF on display I think, so hopefully I can try some cases on the display model for size. I'm looking on the website at the cases but they only seem to have the larger Case Logic one's there.

They have three or four cases on show in Wellington, and an eee pad on display.

That case you linked to is the one I have.

You can get the cases that are designed to stay on all the time, but I like the one I have. It protects it during transport, and leaves it lighter and uncovered during use.

Dammit I paid $730 yesterday! But mine isn't parallel imported so I get better support if anything goes wrong.

The first in deal says delivery from 30th August. It includes a USB cable that mine didn't include too.

This one seems pretty cool, and is way cheaper for some reason (less than $20 without postage):

langers1972: $599 on Firstin again http://www.firstin.co.nz/products/asus-eee-transformer-android-tablet-5826/

If it sounds to good to be true, look for an internet review...

Having said that I there are probably people who are happy with the site. I myself am always suspect when it comes to internet sites that offer cheap deals for a limited time.

They only cost US$400/NZ$480 in the US, so it's not unreasonable that it could be $600 here. They probably haven't paid GST though.

I purchased Transformer through Firstin and so far it seems to be OK. But having thought about it I would not use them again. They are now joined with Grab one but no idea if that makes them better or not.
My complaint is that the prices are not that cheap. I paid $599 plus $6 for shipping.
I checked PB Tech and while they are $779 but if you want a keyboard which I did and had to buy from PBTECH at $200 I could have purchased both items from PB for $779 which prices the Tablet at $579 and you can pick it up instantly
