Dingbatt: Only things I have noticed so far are the color loss in the battery indicator

Has the whole status bar gone monochrome? I notice the Beats Audio logo and wifi signal indicator are both white now too, instead of red and blue, respectively.

Third party notifications can still be colour. Anything generated by the OS, or HTCs interpretation of it, seem to be monochrome. All part of 'minimalist' Kitkat I guess.
As someone who wears reading glasses I prefer a bit more colour so I don'thave to find my specs to know my battery is 'in the red'.

Battery icon should still turn red somewhere around 15%. It does on stock Kitkat anyway.

Yeah, the battery thing was just by way of illustration. I run a battery widget app anyway which puts a colour indicator in the notification bar (can be toggled). But it is redundant having 2 indications on the same notification bar. It will be interesting to see if the indicator turns red at 15%. Although my battery seems to be lasting longer (trying to resist placebo affect).

I'm posting this from my phone so I can't insert images.

I went from loving Sense 5 to stock GPe 4.4 and hating Sense. But ... Sense 6 is just beautiful, Android as it should be.

Makes the current One a whole new phone.

Yeah, seems that is one thing they changed about the status bar from stock AOSP...got right down to 7% last night - it turned grey below (I think) 10% but no red anywhere...

Missing the colour change on the battery. Used to surf until amber than stop. Cant tell and turning on the % option creates two icons.

Flash player on/off option is gone from the default browser.

Cant get anything to happen when say "OK Google".

I updated to KK 4.2.2 a few days ago and the phone shows Sense 5.5. Can I get Sense 6 without rooting?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The version of Sense with the KitKat 4.4.2 update for the HTC One is 5.5. I believe the first appearance of Sense 6 (apart from a couple of leaked videos) is going to be with the official launch of the new One next week, and insiders (not HTC) are saying it will be up to four months before it is properly released for the classic One.

Does anyone actually have Sense 6 now?

I heard OK Google isn’t a part of 4.4, except on the Nexus 5. You have to download something else (Google Experience Launcher, or Google Now Launcher?) to get it on another 4.4 device...

The OK Google command is language-specific, and does not currently work with Google's version of 'English New Zealand'. They added it to 'English Australia yesterday', though.

It will only work from within the Google Search/Now application itself unless you install a launcher that has the always listening functionality (I believe the only cross-device one at present is the Google Experience Launcher/Google Now Launcher), which may or may not work/work well/work without battery drain on devices without hardware support for the low power always-listening feature (Part of the Snapdragon 800 chipset).

Take a closer look at the screenshot above. Specifically the clock widget and status bar ;-)

Can't say.

It's not really suitable as a daily driver yet. NFC doesn't work and battery drain is pretty bad.

But there will be a Sense 6 ROM available on the 25th.

Zub: I just tested Airdroid on mine and found the same thing. I don't normally use it to manage texts, but I can see how that would be annoying. I'm on ver 2.9. It looks like a few people have noted the bug in the forums already, so hopefully it will be patched.

Hmmm....something else different since KitKat upgrade. Every time I receive or send a txt , a window pops up on my PC Aidroid screen saying:

"Usage is running

Touch for more information or to stop the application"

Can't quite figure it out yet...

Thats got nothing to do with the update mate, it's a hardware issue. I took my phone back to telecom, still S-off and unlocked Bootloader and they replaced the entire phone, no questions asked. They admitted it is a hardware fault. Return the phone for a replacement before the warranty runs out. Camera is now working properly. Very very good in low light, in fact all lighting conditions.

I got my HTC One from Warehouse stationary. I have always had the purple tint on in the photo shots... It still under warranty, can I still get it changed?
