Krishant007: I got my HTC One from Warehouse stationary. I have always had the purple tint on in the photo shots... It still under warranty, can I still get it changed?

Yeah you should be able to. Don't take no for an answer.

merve0o0: Got the update a couple of days ago. Went to use the camera today and it now has the purple tint. Its only very slight but still disappointing.

Thats got nothing to do with the update mate, it's a hardware issue. I took my phone back to telecom, still S-off and unlocked Bootloader and they replaced the entire phone, no questions asked. They admitted it is a hardware fault. Return the phone for a replacement before the warranty runs out. Camera is now working properly. Very very good in low light, in fact all lighting conditions.

yea i figured it was just a coincidence. I have only had this one for a month or so (had a silver one now have a black one). did they replace it in store or send it off?

Sent it off, but about 6 days later they had a replacement for me, not a fixed phone. So I was quite happy about that.

What's with the new version causing apps to crash? Now and then I get a "Twitter has stopped message" (even when it's in the background, probably when a notification is coming out). And today I caught this when my daughter exited Bejeweled2:

I've submitted the report on every single crash. I hope HTC actually sees those and get a fix...

I bought my HTC One from Aussie while i was there, 64GB Optus one i believe from Harvey Norman... have the purple tint issue, so am considering getting it replaced, but i'm in NZ and even though The Telecom/Vodafone model here is the same as the ones in Aussie for Optus, i dont think they do 64GB here in NZ, plus i dont know if i can actually get it replaced under warranty if i approach Harvey Norman in NZ.. any suggestions?

how about HTC direct? is there a service department in NZ i can contact?

Why should the locals provide warranty on a device you did not buy from them?? Go back to where you bought it from.

I bought it from aussie while on a trip there, and because nz doesn't bring in 64GB version... i would have gladly bought it from vodafone or telecom etc locally if they did...

Because it has an INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY perhaps?? No idea if it actually does or not but many devices these days do.

In other words, you have no idea, do you?? It's a legitimate issue: if you don't buy from the local, I don't see why the locals should provide warranty. If the manufacturer wants to provide warranty of their product, break a leg getting there!!

Ok, so I was providing ONE example reason as to why a local agent for a global manufacturer might have to accept his device back. Why do you see fit to argue the point? It's legitimate. And why are you coming on so strong? Are you incapable of joining a forum online without getting snotty? Can you not discuss something without being so rude?

My purple tint only happens when I black out the camera with an object (not finger as light bleeds through).  It also happens when it's in a low light environment for a long time.

Is this normal behaviour?
