Interesting maybe Google have picked up on the flaw, and fixed it. I will try an order a phone and see if it adds any tax

Now this button does what? whoops!

Yeah the buggers have fixed the flaw, wanted to charge me $51 tax. Oh well it was good while it lasted.

Have to find a mail forwarder in Montana or New Mexico where there is no state tax.

Yeah bugger, never mind I just cant wait to get it now. Waiting for Google to accept my activation data.

In the mean time shipito have verified my account so I am up to 70% verification so it should fly through their warehouse and on to me with out any holdups there.

Ok so just like everyone else my order was canceled after verification from google. Reading some Australian forums I have found www.comgateway.com which is based in Oregon so no tax.

Huge thread here on it http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1357367.html plus others on whirpool and all verifying it to be a good service on par with shipito.

So updated my shipping address in google checkout, placed the new order so will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it ships and then hopefully saved my self $51.80 US in tax.

Maybe "like everyone else" was too general, say "like some people", or maybe "like helicrew" if they were the only other one with that problem.

In the end it worked out good as I had more time from the initial impulse excitement to research and find a better shipping company and save $50US

Well I can confirm the phone arrived no problems and comGateways was great. It did cost me $150 customs fees / GST etc but was to be expected.

Was good timing too as it arrived a day before we chucked out Telecom and got Vodafone going.

So, so far so good loving the Android over WM6.5

Anyone know of any local retailers selling the nexus one dock?

All I could find was this http://www.expansys.co.nz/d.aspx?i=195715 which is NZ$86 +$45 (exc GST) :(

How long did it take comgateway to forward the package?

According to Fedex, it was delivered to them at Noon their time and it would now be 3am the next day and I still haven't heard from them. I'm thinking 1 business day is no big deal.....though they do say they "immediately" process any items.

Also found out they are Singapore-based....and the global business grew out of servicing Singapore and Malaysia originally.

I am thinking more and more that I may look at getting an HTC Desire instead of the Nexus One (funds permitting!). Same specs, but slightly cheaper.
