not sure whether I will be keeping the HD.  I was at shops and still found impossible to see the screen.  The other thing I find is with phone in pants pocket I cant hear it ring, even when out right next to me I find hard to hear notification for text messages.

If you need a accurate position... Turn on gps!! That's what it's there for. Otherwise if there are wifi networks near they can also be used to get a more accurate position.

I can see the screen fine, even in bright light. (although, my myopia does make me pretty good at seeing screens up close)

When you have had the phone for around 10 days and calibrated the battery (instructions online) then the battery life is better. The crucial factor is how long the screen is on, with this nice screen I often surf the web for several hours which is a good way to kill some battery.

My gps gets a fix to 1-2m when stationary, and usually 8m in the car while moving. Where you outside? Gps does not work unless you have a clear view of the sky.

I had almost 100% accuracy with Google maps and GPS on. In really bright sunlight, with sun shining directly onto the screen, it is hard to view. But I've never seen a phone yet that isn't hard to view in those conditions. The only time I encounter this is with occasional photographs when I need to keep the phone pointed toward the object I am shooting & can't turn out of the light. However, shielding the screen with a hand or wearing a cap seems to overcome this ok.

I'm not really sure why some of you are having issues with Locations (Premium Nav), but I absolutely love it! Been using it regularly for around 3 weeks and have had no issues so far. I've got an aussie trip coming shortly so will post my experiences with the new overseas maps.

okay I will search for battery calibration.    When inside I find it wont lock on gps after 15 minutes gave up and when at Fashion Island shops Papamoa on footpath it didnt want to lock on either.  Not in bright sunlight but cloudy and still have trouble seeing screen.  This is at half brightness, but turning up to full brightness doesnt seem to make any difference

My DHD has showed up today, so sorry to my patients who had to put up with me trying to get it all hooked up. Tried to bluetooth my Nokia n900 contacts but no joy, any other easy options?

Managed to get contacts from SD card as vcf files so that is ok now. How do you browse your SD card? I just took my 16G one from my N900 and put it in the DHD to get the contacts but cant see the other stuff on the card??

Don't need visa card details for free apps.
