I been eagerly awaiting the release of the LG Nexus 5, overall offers great value, apparently from another review I have read: no bloatware, the  back has a rubbery feel and one issue is the camera lense is slightly raised on the back so the phone does not sit flat on a table which could result in the lense being scratched, I really wanted to buy this phone on release, just need to investigate further the camera lense and decide if it will be an issue for me.

Same here! I had enough of 16GB. Need to get the 32GB :)
I'm trying to convince myself that I can wait till christmas or next year :)

The 16GB is possibly ok if you don't play games and have access to cloud services and a good data plan, but here in NZ, that seems unrealistic to me!

I recently bought a THL W8 Beyond (I needed a device with MTK chipset for reverse engineering purposes), and decided it would make a suitable upgrade from my Galaxy S3, so I gave that to my wife. But now the Nexus 5 is just too tempting, and lack of decent ROM support for the THL W8 is killing me!

aww lucky! somehow i managed to select 3-5 day delivery instead of the fastest (2 day?) shipping. kind of getting impatient waiting for it to arrive :P

I did the same thing!! I feel like an idiot because ever extra hour I wait is agony. I didn't realise I would want it so badly while it was on its way... Mine's due Friday in the US. Let's hope that doesn't cause extra delays at YouShop :-(

Hey, quick question for everybody - do you know if Google Play purchases include an invoice/receipt in the parcel? I know some stores just ship with an order confirmation that doesn't mention the price.

same, but after reading some of the reviews with comments about battery life and camera quality i might have a rethink about what to get.

The comparisons I've seen with the HTC One camera are favourable, and the HTC One is meant to have one of the better cameras for a smartphone. It seems less grainy and sharper than the HTC One from what I saw...

I just paid youshop $28 (including compensation cover) for 2 phones to be forwarded to NZ. Not bad.

when my nexus 4 parcel arrived earlier this year from google play (US), the receipt didn't mention any price on it. i believe it should be the same this year.

p.s. it's kind of neat to see the same people binging at the nexus 5 as those that were around for the nexus 4 debacle :D

erlend: They have the Nexus 5 listed on becextech.co.nz. Both 16GB and 32GB models for $679 and $739 respectively. Seems like a reasonable price for NZ, and it says they'll be in stock from 15th November. Anyone else extremely tempted?

Looks like another parallel site, they don't list whether GST is included, which points to it not being. I would stick with a local store.

What's wrong with a parallel site, exactly? Assuming it's the international version (which I've emailed them about), then I can't see any real down side. Not 100% sure about GST, but I've been through the checkout process all the way to payment, and it still states the price I stated above.

Just got a reply from BecexTech that all the prices on their site are final (no GST applicable).
Also, it looks like they are based in CH, so it has a NZ presence and paying NZ taxes.

Looks better and better.

I know nothing about that store, which is why I'd recommend friends to pay $20 more and buy from 2degrees. If you want to save money, then I would recommend buy direct from google in the USA for around $525 incl GST+P&P

PS. The shop is probably ok based on this:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/961469

However I don't think the $20 saving is significant.

Nice! Did you have a discount code or did they package them into one box?

Haha yes, once you go Nexus, you never go back. I think I was discussing how to buy the Nexus 4 only two months after buying the Galaxy Nexus... (in my defence, the 4.2 update made the GNex laggy as hell).

That's amazing!! I can't express how jealous I am right now...

Yep, and it's the international version (D821).

I would agree, but 2 degrees will not be selling the 32GB model...
