I sent my device in for repair and they just reflashed an old stock rom (android 4.2.2)

I tried updating via OTA and got stuck in a bootloop so ended up using Fastboot to push TWRP and now I'm loading ARHD Rom.

I was wondering if there is a way to get the most recent modem though since I am S-ON and none of the methods have worked for me.

I fear mine is now bricked despite never doing anything out of the ordinary (no rooting etc)

I haven't been able to do any updates for the last 6 months as get error message saying its "Tampered" so I ignored the offers to update over the air.

Until today.. crashed into the ?bootloader screen and so I decided it was time to use the factory reset. No effect but now on turning on it asks me for a decryption password !?

Off to Vodafone I'll go tomorrow with my receipts showing only 14 months old and hope for the best.

And Im on call this weekend - typical.

HTC Hero still works though !!!

PS Having seen LokHor comment above about problem when updating again, I think if Vodafone fixes my phone I wont leave the shop until I have completed any OTA updates that are pending..

Phone back, OS reflashed so its an empty phone again.

Impressed by speed from Vodafone/HTC as I dropppd it off 530pm friday and it was ready to pickup 930 am Wednesday.

It would appear that the rollout of Lollipop to Sense M7s had begun (Europe and parts of Asia). Be interesting to see when ours are given a taste of lollipop. Since I have become kind of attached to the Xposed modules that I currently use and the lollipop compatible version is still under beta I don't mind if it isn't right now.

Having said that, there appears to be pretty positive reports on battery and performance improvements so Xposed may need to be 'rested' if all else outweighs its utility.

I received the update OTA last week for my (parallel imported, on VF Network) M7 last week.
While I haven't noticed any huge improvement in battery performance (or other) some work colleagues have felt they have.

It'd be a nice "we care too" gesture from VF, in my opinion...and given that the same build the NZ carriers use is often the same one used by the Aussie ones, who DO have such updates available, it's not like its some big secret that you'd be letting slip or anything...

Oh trust me, I am...and have been for quite a while...To be honest, I'm not sure my next android phone will even be a carrier-bought one. But we'll see. Depends how quickly the carriers here can get the new HTC M9 (assuming that does turn out to be "better enough" than the likes of the Oneplus One to justify what will no doubt be a huge extra cost)

I must say I'm a bit disappointed that it hasn't even reached our carriers yet for testing. However, I can't see how they can be blamed for that. That surely must lie with HTC.
I will wait until Monday morning's HTC announcement (and Samsung's) to see whether the M9 or S6 will be how I get a lollipop phone or wait for the local M7 update. If things get too frustrating there are plenty of custom solutions, and now that there are M7 ROMs (not ports) they should be good and stable.

After having a pain free resolution to the 'pink camera' problem when it occurred I will stick with the local carrier phones I think.

It's a sign to upgrade to M9 :P

Stuck it on charge? recall once I couldn't get mine to reboot but stuck it on the wall charger for a while and it magically came back to life

It doesn't even light up when on charge. I have tried all different combinations of turning it on with power, vol up with and without the charger plugged in.

It sounds kind of terminal. Very occasionally my M7 just won't start up. Even though it has a full charge it acts as though it is dead flat. I put it on its original HTC charger for about 5 minutes and then do a hard reboot by holding the power button down for about 30 seconds (until capacitive buttons have lit up, gone dark again and then after a pause the phone buzzes and starts up).

You indicated a reboot to recovery attempt with the volume buttons, but I too had no luck when I tried that.
