Zub: Another small data point on the potential battery issue.
Based on phone in pocket, screen off all day...
Monday - Phone dead by 2pm
Tuesday - Phone would have died by 4pm according to battery graph.
Wednesday - Current battery graph shows predicted death at 4am (AM!)
What changed?
On Monday night I had a huge cull of useless apps. No real difference.
On Tuesday night I topped up my prepay account, and got my mobile data plan back online after a few days without it.
Speculation: My phone was repeatedly trying to connect with 4G data (since I wasn't near wifi all day) but being rejected by the network. (Possibly also boosting the radio signal in an attempt to handle a perceived low coverage area?)
Correlation does not imply causation. But if anyone else with battery issues since upgrading to Lollipop can pin it down to a similar cause, then I'd love to know. Might be worth a bug ticket to the Googs.
Google in all honesty won't care as your phone is running an OEM customised version of Android.

That's a good point.
I have a working solution currently, so don't feel that a factory re-set is needed just yet. I was sharing more for academic interest. But I'll definitely take it back to factory settings and upgrade from a clean slate if it turns out to be a re-occurring issue.
Thanks for the reply :)

sidders80: So my device developed that purple / pink flare issue on the camera and it was really bad. Sent it for repair last week and have been told today that they can't repair it they will replace it. They have requested a replacement from HTC. Has anyone had a similar experience and also how long does it take? Telegistics (the repair agent) didn't have any idea on timeframe and said they will call me when the replacement arrives.
All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.

Usually doesn't take too long, week or two at most

Dingbatt: My replacement was available the following week (6 working days) which was pretty snappy when you consider Noel Leeming's transfer process used up at least a day at each end as well. The limitation will probably be the availability of M7s now. My exchange was done about 10 months ago.

Yes this is what Telegistics were unsure about.
bmt: Anyway, had this phone for almost about 1.5 years, it's banged up with multiple scratches on the screen, but I don't mind all that at all. Never really been serious about replacing the phone.. but this update is almost the straw that broke the camels back. I use Chrome as my browser and often open up multiple Stuff/NZ Herald tabs to read later when I have no wifi (currently overseas so no data). Whereas before all the tabs were in Chrome and you could see the title of each article, now they are lumped in with the app drawer thing. Not only do you have to scroll to find them if you've opened subsequent tabs, they have no title so have no idea which article is which. Numerous times I have opened an article, double tapped home to close it and swiped the wrong one.
bmt:
Then there's the fact the none of the apps ever close as mentioned previously. Wi-fi is constantly dropping out (use the same network with my laptop and have 0 problems). Lock screen now have to swipe up THEN enter my code. Had a brief look but can't see how to turn this off.. didn't happen before the update so annoying that it is now.
Oh well.. will see how long I can stand it before getting a new phone.
