My first smartphone was the Telecom Okta Touch (still hidden here on Spark's website!) which was an HTC device. I loved it!  I then had a Sanyo and a Sony that I didn't like so much, then the HTC Sensation, and now the M7, which I still really like and will probably have for at least another 15 months. I'm not a big fan of the ultrapixel camera but I only use it when I see something nice/funny/outrageous that I want to show someone later.  I have a digital camera that I'll use when I actually want to take better quality photos.

I nearly got seduced by a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ recently, but managed to resist.

Zub: The A9 sounds like it will be a real beast in terms of processing power: http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/09/htc-one-a9-with-mt6797-deca-core-chip-hits-geekbench-beats-exynos-7420/. So that's promising.

Awww.. not such a promising beast after all :(

S310,MTeor,Snap,Desire,Sensation and now using the M7 and looking for a replacement.
HTC have made some groundbreaking phones over the years and have served me well.
However the competition has well and truly caught up to the point where HTC M9 seems to be lagging about 6-12 months behind the other players which is a long time in phone development.
By the time the M10 comes out next year the likes of the Sony Z5 and Samsung S6 should be heavily discounted and it will be hard to justify the premium the M10 will command and I doubt the M10 will better these phones by much.
Sorry HTC as far as i'm concerned its game over.

I think the HTC software is way ahead of Samsung. At least it doesn't come with a truckload of "apps" that is of no use.

HTC software is getting lighter all the time as they progressively move their proprietary apps to the Play Store. Now all they need to do is separate the OS from the carrier firmware so updates are faster by sidestepping the carrier approval step.

And while the S6 I bought is a good device, I think if HTC can produce the M10 so that it doesn't have a crippled camera, has a good screen, SD card slot, wireless charging, boomsound speakers and a decent battery then I will be back in the fold. Waterproofing would also be nice.

Hey guys, I recently tried to go back to stock but I'm getting boot looped now from an update. Would anyone be kind enough to send me a backup of a recent version of a NZ HTC One. Once fixed and with a factory reset I'll make sure to post a link to my own backup to help anyone else with these issues.

Thanks.
