richms: Yes, that is my thinking but its not on my usual place what I get music from and I have had enough of getting lousy encodes etc so thought I would try legit.

What other non drm music retailers are there available in NZ which dont require the installation of invasive malware (cough itunes cough)

I signed up for Google Music when it was in beta (using a VPN).

I am able to stream the music I uploaded with no problem but when I went to shop for music I got the document is not available in your country. But when I turned on the VPN it was. I then as an experiment for the greater good purchased a song. I was not allowed to use my NZ credit card (attached to Google Wallet) but I could use a Onesmart Card. I have a US address attached to the card but it's not the one registered to the card.

Does that help?

$0.16 a song? something tells me that site isnt legit.

You might as well download songs for free the old fashioned way.

This is their registered address

1st Floor, B&P House, Lini Highway, Port Vila, Vanuatu

Does that say anything?

That tells me that you might as well be downloading your music illegally; there is no reason for iomoio to pay the record companies as they are not bound by US laws so who knows if they are actually paying their fees to the correct labels or just pocketing the cash themselves.

scottjames84: If they make it impossible for you to get the song legally then imo screw em; just download it using other means.

You obviously want to pay for the song and it is their fault for not making it available to people who legitimately want to pay for the songs.

They complain and complain about people pirating their music and this my friends is the root cause.

+1

The Music/Movie studios are their own worst enemy. No other industry makes it so hard to spend money.

Not sure if there are any in New Zealand; you could always use Amazon? their Mp3s are all DRM free.

Amazon MP3 store is US only.

So is Google Play and it's just as easy to purchase from Amazon as it is from Google.
