turbotailz: Only problem I have with it is the fact it logs you out every time your screen turns off, which can be a pain when you have it set to turn off quite quickly like on my S3.

The Kiwibank app has this annoying "feature" too.

Westpac App doesn't do this but the Westpac is also quite limited, if you want to do any more than just see your balance you have to log in to the mobile website.

The kiwbank app is good too on android. It's just a simple 4 digit pin like the ANZ iphone app. It is quite similar to the TSB iphone app.

Along with everyone else, I rate the ASB app, it works great on Android and WP8, have never used an iOS version, but given the quality is consistent across the other two platforms i'd say iOS would be decent also.

Payments nice and easy, clean interface, quick balances, transfers, etc.

ASB have just added the option this week to allow what they call "multitasking" which keeps you logged in for 2 minutes.

I don't know. But I can't access my accounts with it as I don't have a regualr transaction account. Just a fastsaver & cash management accounts and none are accessible via the asb app for me. It says I need some netcode which I haven't been able to setup. When I enquired some time ago I recall being told there was an additional cost or something, so didn't investigate further. The other banks make it a lot easier to set these things up, as I have got all the other banks apps working, as I have accounts with most banks in NZ.

There is a one-off netcode authentication required. 50c tops but might even be free these days. ASB are great via Twitter or try their Facebook branch, calling them or calling in when you pass a branch next.

Well I for one only bank with the one bank so can't comment on the others offerings although a lot of people are saying ASB but still gotta wonder how many of them actually bank acrross more than one bank.

My vote goes to BNZ...You can do pretty much anything you like balances can be seen without logging in (well can be setup to be seen) and pay bills yadda yadda. I am sure that if you wanted to have a look at the apps before changing banks there's bound to be some videos available which will show you the features.

BNZ has just introduced Trademe linking so you can get the bank numbers from trademe wins automatically could be handy for regular users.

BNZ gets my vote.
Has anyone used the ASB trademe payment? If I understand it right, as a seller you have to log in and transfer the money to your account. Is that right?

ASB used it on Android and iPhone, both have the same features. One of my most used apps!

Things I love;
- quick balance (3 accounts)
- pin number
- Widget (3 accounts)
- Kiwisaver / Investment Info

Things that I loath;
- screen off = log out...

I don't like the ANZ app. It's a pain in the a_ss to have to log in with my full credentials every time. It goes alright once I'm in there I guess. Hardly use it for much though.

I like the instant balance on the BNZ one, especially since I use it for credit card rather than everyday banking

Don't use any other banks so can't comment on ASB or Westpac.

ASB by far, they keep adding new features and the fact I can get my balance in a matter of seconds or transfer money very quickly is a great bonus for me, also the latest update adding Multitasking support is very handy.

The app also has home-screen widgets which keep you updated as you're spending, excellent for Christmas shopping.

I am with Kiwibank too and compared to the ASB app the quality just isn't there, it's quite laggy on my SIII.

On the iPhone I still think the ASB app is the best by far, very quick and it seems like they've tried quite hard to get the app quick and spiffy across all platforms, Kiwibank is a tad quicker on the iPhone but really seems it's just been slapped together.

Snob much? You don't ever need to visit a branch, tbh. I can't remember the last time I actually needed to visit a branch.

I was with the green bank that became the blue bank, but switched to ASB. The ASB app has more functionality than other banking apps I've used, however I'd like to see them take on ANZ's swipe to confirm to transfer funds - think that's a lot safer than a button.

Got to agree with others, ANZ's lack of logging in with a PIN makes it difficult to use. And that ASB always appear to be first with new functionality.

Wife has a Kiwibank account so have used that app too - looks great and has just as good functionality.

Overall, my vote goes to ASB.
