You may become frustrated with the lack of a physical button.. I've gone from an S3 to a HTC Butterfly, and do not like having to use the power button on top of the phone to wake the screen

Just to be clear for the OP, the Note 2 has a physical button.  Nexus 4 doesn't.

Wait for the note 3.. generally, the Note phones have much better battery life than other android phones.

the advantage you got the with the nexus is the fast updates, which are a good thing to have, the pure android and the price.

the camera is better on the note. The processor is better on the Nexus at the moment compared to the note 2..

if you can wait for note 3 (i think it will be announced mid september and released a month after that, so you would be looking at october)

but if your need is now, go with note if you want best battery and dont care about the size..else go with nexus if you want to save some money and have the latest software

Amen to that.  I came from a SGS2 to a Nexus 4 and really hate having to reach round the side to  wake it up to check the time  or the traffic cams when driving home..

Note 2 ended up only being 50 bucks or so more expensive at dicksmith. And no stores in Invercargill even had the nexus 4.
