I have one of these because as soon as you train into London your smartphone battery dies in a good 3 or 4 hours due to the abundance of signals (wifi in the streets & intermittent 3G in underground) draining the battery due to intensive use of the radio receivers in your phone.
I pre-charge this at home and carry it in my pocket, when my smartphone is at 1/3rd of its capacity left I plug this in and will be able to survive the day before going home.
If that still isn't enough you could buy a 2nd one.

I also use this whilst going camping, I've managed to run a smartphone nearly 5 days by switching off WiFi & 3G at night time and re-charging once with the Duracell unit
