app support will change as it did with Android. I think the Nokia phones are great and a a pity they didn't have an Android model as Windows Phone OS doesn't suit me.

Everyone has their own likes but if you like Windows go for it you can always sell later if you don't like it

I could possibly scrape by with WP8 apps for some stuff, I guess the likely candidate is the nokia 925 but it only has 16gb and no memory card option.

i do agree, but i think one can get used to the button layout in about a week or so (i got used to HTC One after using Samsung in a couple of days).

And they do have things like tap screen to activate etc. Just curious to know if there is anyone on the forums with the G2, and what are their thoughts about the button layout.

Looks nice, $700 fo even the 16gb so over budget. Even LG's website cant tell me if it has an SD card slot.. how poor!

haha, ya it is a bit over the budget i guess. oh well, doesnt hurt to ask :). For some reason, I am finding that windows phones are consistently the cheaper smartphones that I can find on pricespy.

Nexus 5 via youshop?

I used the S3 for a month and have the S4. S3 is a good phone, the S4 is just faster, smoother, and slightly more refined.

Tried buying a nexus 5, google just said wasnt for sale in my country...! Dont you need a US credit card too?

Or is there somewhere else to buy it.. (assuming the T Mobile stores are locked versions), and stock turns up this side of 2014.

You need to use a VPN client such as Tunnelbear or something to get access to the play store. And your address in your google account has to be a US one i think. There are a few things that you need to do before it lets you buy it. Some of the guys who have bought it may be able to advise on that better actually

Too hard basket, this is going to be bought for me by someone else. Plus that will leave you in crap if you need it fixed I guess.

I dont mind shopping from US but when companies like google (or canon US..) make it near impossible to buy then I tend to move on.

RobDickinson, funnily enough, after putting up with my LG P500 for the last year frustrating the heck out of me (continual freezing, never being able to run more than 1 app at a time, 1 browser tab, etc) I finally got my hands on a S3 last week and my god, it's amazing!

I can have loads of multitasking apps, multiple browser tabs, browsing is so quick and fluid, it's brilliant!

I think some other posters on here may not appreciate just how poor your current phone is and how much a S3, even if it is an "older generation" now, will crap all over it. I certainly don't necessarily think you need to go crazy and buy S4 etc.

Yeah its a pretty poor phone. So slow and crashes all the time, much much worse than when I got it due to a firmware update that sucked. One reason I dont want an LG phone again, their software and updates are shocking. The windows firmware update will brick the P500 if it goes to sleep in the middle of it. Nuts. Took me ages to even get it to work. Considering I'm generally ok round technology no idea how an average punter would manage.

I've used a fair few phones so know what to expect which is why I'm not too bothered with the latest and greatest!

Firmware updates on most android phones are very slow unless you go Nexus, unless of course you flash custom Roms then you never look back but its not for everyone.
