old3eyes: I suspect by the time it gets to NZ it won't be anything like the equivalent US$299  but closer to NZ$600+

Yes maybe it will be priced like that here - but that wouldn't be a bad price it would it? Compared to $1,000+ for an M8.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Well at the moment you can buy the Motorola X in the US  for US$299  marked down from $399  but the the likes of Mobicity here are asking NZ$730 + GST  so I expect a similar markup for the One +1..

The APT 700MHz LTE band is band 28, so that'd be a no, more's the pity. Surprised the M8 supports it this early, to be honest.

NikT: Really dislike the physical design of this (and the Oppo Find 7, for that matter), just screams mass produced no-name Chinese OEM IMO - even though this is something quite different. Nice to see specs getting pushed by smaller manufacturers, hopefully next year there will be some truly compelling points of differentiation.

I agree, the design the curved top and bottom makes it look like a cheap noname chinese phone.  I far prefer the HTC one design, or the iphone, which are both more refined. From what I have seen leaked, the iphone 6 will be a nice design too.

How is screen brightness compared to nexus 5 (nearly twice as bright as galaxy s4 which is useless in a fine day outdoor)

Been following this one for a while. Impressive specs, impressive price. I actually like the look of it, too. Somewhat disappointed that it's not compatible with NZ 4G, though. Not sure if that's a dealbreaker as yet.

EDIT: Looks like it's just hit the FCC:

Of interest is the fact that there is a MicroSD slot, despite all releases so far suggesting otherwise.

There is an international version of the One+ One which should actually support a lot of the LTE bands around the world including NZ. Also, none of the official specs have any mention of Micro SD card slot so not sure how to take this news. But besides that, the device itself is very impressive indeed. Just waiting on availability to become common and then can see if I wish to part with the HTC One for this or not.

The 64gb version of the phone is $50 usd more than the 16gb version, So I dont see it as much of an issue

Still an issue for me, 64gb internal with my 128gb card is nearly where I want to be.

This should answer your questions about the SD Card Slot
