There is no knox bootloader on the S3.


My mistake. I have the i9305 which does. I was under the impression the i9300 also did, but apparently not.

Well thanks everyone - I tried downloading the 4.1.2 firmware that mrtoken suggested and it worked. phone and texting back online! Sounds like a minor miracle. Oh well I did pray.

Wow. How lucky are you. This happened to me when I had my S3, I spent a whole weekend trying to fix it and gave up in the end. Cost me $150 to get it fixed by Omni.

 

 

Not sure if your phone is rooted or not, but it might pay to download KC-Tools (I think it is) from the Play Store and back up your efs files. Also, Ariza patch works too on the S3.
