I'm very happy with my LG G-pad 8.4 I picked up from JB Hifi last month. It has plenty of ram, processor storage etc. Crisp screen. Only downside is the auto screen brightness is not crash hot. I probably should run lux on it. I was rather surprised to see it for $599 in HN today as i only paid $260 for it. I'd like the 12" note, one day, one day...

While I wouldn't be so bold as to suggest the G-Pad's the best Android tablet (as per the thread's title!) - but perhaps the best-value tablet at the $260 we paid for - I just wanted to concur re the quality of the auto brightness: it's dire. I've stuck Lux Lite (or whatever the free version of this is) and it's been a lot better.

My biggest issue is banding on the screen - a slightly darker band down the shortest length, about 3-4 cm's in from one side; most obvious when white/light colours are displayed. Haven't found any other reports of this though, so may just be a one-off.
