IMEI is still different to the one behind the battery after factory reset.

Madeline: -Sigh- well something went wrong. The phones rebooted, the OS is perfect, everythings back to the way it was... apart from I am displayed with the error "Not registered on network" when making a call. When forcing it to vodafone NZ i get "No Service" and texting gives a "No signal found for mobile networks"

So... guess that went badly.... Not sure where to go from here. Think I need to buy a new phone?

I'm in Christchurch tomorrow and would be happy to help you out. Try a factory reset and if that doesn't work flick me a private message on here and we could sort something out. Let me know tonight so I can download the firmware via my UFB connection since trying to do it via Mobile Broadband in Christchurch won't be fun :)

OK this means you've corrupted the EFS partition. In Odin you'll see a "Restore EFS" tickbox, run a factory reset on your phone and try re-flashing the firmware again with the "Restore EFS" checkbox ticked and see if that fixes it.

Sounds like the bootloader was updated with the last OTA update & it won't recognise older modems. You may be able to manually flash the newer modem over 4.1.2, but no guarantee this will work.

Regardless, flashing back to the latest software should fix it, this is a known issue when downgrading.

Recommend moving your contacts to your Google account from the SIM so you can set whatever display pictures you like. :)
