Stu: It's actually rather slow, and I haven't found a way to speed it up.

Settings.autoselect time can be reduced but that's all. But if cloud is switched on makes no differnce. Moving closer to Google maybe?

1eStar: Sorry my bad. What I'm trying to say is there isn't an option for it to auto correct when I'm swyping my input then tap an i. You either have to use the space bar(with that option turned on) or the suggestion at the top. And so as a result i get a lot of small i's. When I really want a capital. Anyway we're way off topic.

On topic, is there a way of switching keyboards quickly? The google writing input keyboard irked me that i couldn't figure how to correct the errors with a real keyboard.

Which version of Android? From I think JB and above just swipe down the notification bar and hit Choose Input Method. Or do you mean faster than that?

Happy to try to sort out the i issue via PM if you like. Sounds annoying!

Slow as in the amount of text in the writing field then waiting for it to clear the screen. Writing smaller helps, except when it becomes totally unreadable :-)

I changed the response time from the default of 400ms down to 200ms and found it quite a bit better.  Pleasantly surprised at its accuracy and speed (after the aforementioned change).  But using on a phone is pointless - screen is just too small.

Is actually not too bad on the Note 3 using the S Pen. Hopeless without the pen though (might have something to do with my handwriting skills I guess). Will have a look at altering the response time tomorrow and see how that goes.

Ideally I want this input metod for URL bar and search bar only. It is useful and efficient there. But keyboard for nearly everything else until it gets better. Switching is only two clicks but defeats the efficiency.
