Don't buy from the US unless you want only limited 4G functionality in NZ - band 28 is missing from the US Moto X Pure model. Australia/UK seem to be the models that have all the LTE bands relevant for NZ.

I was also considering that, but got really turned off when I discovered the Moto X Style is only available on the AU Vodafone network. Likely to be locked to that carrier as well. Also good point with the 4G coverage, however considering that I would only want to use the 4G in the main city centres which most of them would have it. Otherwise where there isn't any 4G coverage, it would just switch to 3G.... am i right?

Motomaker is pretty much the defining factor with Motorola phones, without it there are better options out there.
