ok well downloaded and flashed Marshmallow with Odin this morning with no issues. Have to say that, apart from some changes to pull down panel, I can't see much difference.

Running the Indian version for the G920I from Sammobile but I see there are some South American versions coming through now so expect that we will more in the not to distant future.

I did the same and I am very happy with the update -- and it was surprisingly easy to do with no loss of apps or data. It is more responsive, battery life is better and there are a number of useful things that are done better.

Launching the camera with a double-click is now much faster. That alone is worth an upgrade.

I have removed most of the Samsung apps and use stock Google launcher and apps where possible.

Thanks for that Jeff, grabbed and installed, painless and very easy. Its nice with no flashing spark boot page. I have found it to be a bit snappier but it may just be my perception as it was very snappy previously.

I like the newer pull down toggle I think it looks a lot sharper. Glad I have upgraded.

good to hear, yes it is easy and I'll probably download the Spark version when it arrives as current one may not have fast dormancy switched off therefore affects battery life but seems to be doing good thus far.

Did the update solve the memory issues?

I have had all sorts of memory issues. Phone can sit with 10% of RAM left and be very sluggish. When using fingerprint lock screen, the phone sometimes would just not light up. It was on, but the lock screen wouldnt show, backlight wouldnt even turn on. Clicking the home button or power button did nothing. Then eventually, it would light up. might take a minute to get it working, and then it would be normal. I found closing apps with the left hand button so it always had RAM solved the problem, and then googled and found a number of people with similar sorts of things. Really hope this update addresses this as it has ruined my experience of this phone, especially since it was such a large cost.

haven't had that issue, check application manager to see what is hogging your memory.

1.7GB is used by the system, 866MB used by Apps at the moment. I have no apps which are hogging the system that I have ever seen. It did this after I did a factory reset too, thinking it must have been something I had installed, but no.

When it does lock up and go slow, by the time its working again it must have killed off whatever the program was which was hogging it, so its not visible from Application Manager.

I thought it might be something wrong with my phone itself, but most of the time it works fine, its just when its low on memory and the screen locks that the issue seems to come about. Or if the screen locks while a program or game was running maybe. I dont really know what the trigger is, but its damn annoying when it does do it. I even set up a killing app so when the screen went black it would kill off all programs, but even that didnt solve it 100%, it still managed to happen. Maybe it was when the screen turned on again that it killed it, I cant remember.

thats not normal, when you say factory reset is that using the "volume up, home & power button" ? because that usually fixes ram issues unless you have a rogue app. However a factory reset will wipe your data so if it still does it before you reinstall your apps I'd take it back.

When the screen goes black try holding power button for about 20 seconds as that should reboot it.

next time its sluggish use the above method to go to recovery and "wipe cache partition" then reboot to see if it helps.

When the phone goes sluggish and wont start, simply waiting a minute and doing it again can then render it OK again. Its like it is so busy doing something else that it doesnt have CPU time or RAM to service the lockscreen start request or something. Sometimes it delays showing the lockscreen, but then it still times out after the same amount of time since you pressed the button to show the lock screen, so say it was delayed 5 seconds to show the lockscreen and the timeout of the lockscreen is normally say 6 seconds, it would only show it for 1 second but after 5 seconds delay. If that makes sense.

Truly odd behavour. Cannot remember if it did it before or after I installed my apps again. I dont use any modding apps or anything serious. Have a few games, email etc, nothing major.

Ending apps before I let the phone lock seems to solve the problem though. So there is something strange going on with the RAM management.

Haven't seen anyone else write a description like mine though, so it is truly weird, but I do see plenty of people unhappy with the RAM management.

Really hope this update addresses it all. If not, back to the shop I guess. Still under warranty, but sending it back and trying to get the Samsung tech to be able to reproduce it.... not going to be easy. Likely have no phone for a week and they send it back saying nothing is wrong.

Just wondering if anyone had an update as too when the update will be released for NZ phones? If not soon I might just flash the indian one.

Do it.

Only thing that doesn't work is Semble, though it still works if already set up. Frankly I have found Semble to be a bit of a pita

Seems Singapore has their update, for the same phones as we get.

I got the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update come through to my S6 Edge+ last night. I am on Spark by the way.

So far it's pretty slick.
