it all depends on where the importer can source them from for a good price.

generally you wont recieve over the air updates unless you buy it from one of the telco's here. but you should be able to download the rom's and install them

I bought 2 x Galaxy S7 from Mobile Station in Sept (one for me and one for my Wife) and now notice mine says its from UAE in the build info screen.

Hasnt had a single android system update since ive owned it and it has corrupted my SD card from Harvey Norman and lost lots of photos etc.

Recovered some and lost lots and got a new card from HN and after few weeks same issue.

I had no idea my phone would be from UAE!

You should be able to download NZ firmware for it, depending on the model. Look up the model number at sammobile

Could also be a hardware issue.

I'm not sure what samsung in NZ are like, but here in Oz they won't touch a parallel imported phone under warranty.

 NZC = 2degrees. VNZ = Vodafone. TNZ = Spark.

I generally find the reverse to be true, non-NZ devices get firmware updates a lot quicker than the local ones do as they're not hamstrung by the often very lengthy "testing" processes.

Did you flash both of them? Did you factory reset both of them after flashing? Dial *#1234# from both handsets and see if they're running the same software version on all three strings listed.

I don't even know where to start answering. Luckily the other guys have OP sorted.

It really depends on the exact model as to what different versions there may be.

Long story short, if a Samsung handset is reflashed without a factory reset, it may not get OTA updates and will need to be updated manually with ODIN.
