gzt: That may be the case. But finished is not the same as unsupported.
Was more referring to the idea of waiting for the next one... there won't be a next one :)
Purchased one at lunchtime (NL - $399) and then spent $50 via Trademe getting an assortment of USB C cables/adaptors, cases and screen protectors
And now looking at how I can get Anker branded cables and adaptors without it costing a small fortune
Until everything is in hand (case/screen protector espy) I will stick with my old phone
Anyone know where to get Nexus 5X screen protectors (I have a few coming from Trademe), but want some more options
And also looking for a 1.5m (minimum) USB-C to USB-C cable for the charger as the one in the box is too short to be able to be plugged in behind my computer desk and with the connector within reach to charge phone - Trademe seems to only sell USB-C to USB-A cables.
Another issue I had - charged to 100%, then turned phone off.
Took phone into 2D to do a SIM swap, and could not turn the phone on. Eventually connected it to my Powerbank and turned on the phone - showing 20% battery life
(Still running Android 6, October 2015 Update)

The nexus 5x had "issue" when first released, these were fixed later on in a software update, if you are running 2015 software then hit the software update button :)
It's a totally different phone once you are up to date :)
Figured that "update" would be the answer; sorta waiting to jump direct from 6.0 to 7.1 without all the incremental updates.
I went from the N4 to N5X, was definitely worth it, but that was a little while ago now
Looks like $399 is the new "normal" price for the N5X - at least Noel Leeming is selling them for that and not calling it a sale or anything... hopefully they have a sale that drops that a bit more soon ;-) I think I'd definitely pick one up if they were closer to or under $350.
