Certainly would be a good market space to capture, Would be good to see proper usb 3 cables (with the resister) in NZ too rather than all the cheap ones avaiable that don't have them!

Anker don't have an official presence in AU/NZ so there is no way for them to carry them without becoming an official distributor/supplier. You couldn't go via non official sources as you really want products with the correct plugs.

When I met the Anker guys in Sydney at CeBIT last May they indicated they were only a few months away from having product available in "big name stores" in Aussie and NZ. I really don't know what's taken so much time.

hmm frustrating! i too would ask why it's taken so long! they are great products!

Annoying especially when currently in NZ there is indeed a big lack of External power Banks, even ones without USB-C.

Only one's I have really seen in NZ are Belkin Mixit (which don't with have even near the same capacity of Anker's battery Power Banks), Swiss Mobility (which I had one, but the output ended up being at about 20 Milliampere using Ampere despite how it stated it had an output of 2.1A and never charged my phone in a decent amount fo time), and several other Chinese brands. Not one like a well-respected brand like Anker...

Having used the Anker PowerCore+ 20100 since Friday, it was well worth buying for $100 NZD including Shipping. Can definitely see why it has so many 5 star reviews online, well worth the money I spent.

My Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C arrived today. That was fast shipping. Ordered 19th Feb (Sunday) and delivered today 25th (Saturday with signature). Was declared as parts for mobile and cell phone.

The only problem with ordering something that size is you can no longer legally take it on a plane, and when they check capacity and size at airport screening you run the real risk of having it confiscated.

@Sbiddle I ordered mine through eBay and like @billgates it arrived quickly. I had no issues, the battery is within the allowed amounts to transport. Works a charm, a week after arriving I'm still in love with it

From below ebay seller which I believe is an official Anker account. I found the link thanks to the OP's first post. My understanding is that if it's under 100Wh battery then you can take it with you in your carry on?

It's actually not.

If you want to take that on Air NZ for example you'll need prior permission from them as it exceeds 20,000 mAh capacity. Some airlines totally ban battery packs over 100Wh (20,000 mAh)

Screening around the world is now checking size and capacity of powerbanks and lithium batteries. My simple travel advice would be to never take that device on a plane. Yes it's only 100 mAh, but it's still breaking the rules.

Yes 100Wh or under is fine in carry on. Over that and many airlines either ban then or require permission before they're taken.

I've had battery capacities checked at screening both domestically and in the US recently, and all Powerbanks require capacity to be clearly printed on them to comply with regulations.

This specific Anker product is listed as 76Wh battery on a laser etch label on the physical product itself so should be easy enough to pass through security. I will have to carry it with me on carry-on luggage rather than check in it seems but that's not a big hassle.

Ahh I just learnt something about the Anker's (despite having a few). They're all only 3.7V cells so the usual Wh calculations based on a 5V x capacity aren't correct.

You can no longer take powerbanks or lithium batteries in checked luggage on any airline, they all have to be carry on.

That's how all power banks are measured. Cells at their nominal voltage. The idea of measuring at 5v never got anywhere thankfully since it is irrelevant at other voltages
