A great cheap phone is the Xiaomi Redmi 4X Pro.  Does all the basics, decent camera (although worse than SE in low light), lots of ram and storage, a very iOS like interface.  Only $180 dollars but need to order from AliExpress and wait a couple of weeks, no warranty but no need at that price.
