I see this is in the latest catalog - how close is it?

FlymeOS - android 7.1.2

5.5 Full HD display

Snapdragon 625 processor

$379 - 3GB/32GB

$449 4GB/64GB

In the market for a new phone soon(ish) - Actually looks quite good on paper.

Really hoping the NZ model has all the 3g/4g frequencies

Stoked to announce that yes, it does. The M6 Note is Meizu's very first handset to come in a variant with Band 28.

Just a couple weeks away now! There are good reasons for the delay which will become obvious when it's launched (and will be worth the wait).

Good to see you guys bringing it in nik, should be a big seller.

But for those wanting to import, you are look at $230 for the base model.

Local warranty is basically what you will get with PB, each to their own on that one.

Does anyone else like the blue? I think its really nice in person.

I just wish the camera would shoot raw files. Id also like to see if I can put google HDR+ on there which makes a huge difference to a lot of cams. Camera software is the main difference in photos now and googles is the best imo.

The imx362 is the same as the HTC u11 which gets a good dxo mark, so with HDR+ it will be interesting to see the difference.

Keep in mind its as users own risk of bricking the phone, Im not sure if its been tested on this phone yet and the APK was originally only dor sd820/821s, but has been applied to the 652/625 on some phones from what I gather.

I don't think I could ever trust Meizu again with their poor update history

Some details on your update(or lack of) issues with meizu would be good. I am not over impressed with Samsung half the time. A quick Google of meizu didn't make them look too bad tbh.

Good thing about the M6 Note is that it has a Snapdragon SOC so there will be custom ROMs available for it soon. I'll get one but not until Lineage OS is available for it

The general bugginess of lineage (galaxy note 2) is the reason I am thinking of a new phone.
Maybe it's just the note 2, but the lineage roms are flaky as....

M5 Note, has never received an update and Google Play Services constantly drained the battery so had to disable it when the screen was off to last the full day. Ended up buying my wife a Moto G5 Plus to replace it because I got sick of her not receiving emails or hangouts.

I cant comment on that phone as I dont own it. It does look like they havent released any updates since March this year, but as an Android user that issue with google play services is an unfortunate and common one and appears to not be necessarily the phones fault.

I find my elderly phone that runs kitkat has periods where the battery life surprises me as to how well it lasts, only to find a few weeks later it drains really fast to the point I think my phone is on the way out. I usually find after a bit of detective work that the issue is tied to a recent app update. The problem being that there are pretty much app updates every day so they are hard to trace - I dont run that many 'additional' apps on my phone either.

You will notice that quite often a particular app can get apps just about daily for several days. I think the 'agile' approach to software development just means that you keep fiddling with apps and releasing them without much testing until people stop complaining.

Recently google seemed to decide that gmail should go to sleep and not wake to notify of new emails. It could take 30 minutes or more to be notified of new emails - it stayed that way for quite a while (and annoyed me greatly). Recently they seem to have reverted back to a quicker notification process.

I guess I am saying I see your point - but the main problem may not be the actual hardware.
