Yep, loved my Z3 until an unfortunate dip in a stream (waterproof my ass), and currently running a Z5. Massive improvement over the Samsungs I have prior. Was good to step back in the Sony arena after the excellent Sony Ericsson W995

I have a Sony Xperia XZ phone with a cracked screen that has stopped picking up mobile coverage. I am assuming an aerial is damaged behind the screen.

Is there anyone recommended in Wellington for mobile phone repairs that can do Sony screens?

I have a new Sony Xperia XZ Premium from Spark ($949 deal) as a replacement. The screen is really nice, but I think it's single sim.

2Degrees have the Sony Xperia XZ1 phones, with similar hardware but a different screen.

I highly recommend Omnitech, they are in Queensgate but I think they have other locations in Welly.

My wifes XA got a scratched camera lens and they replaced the unit perfectly after going to heaps of places all not offering to do it or costing a bomb. After learning that I bought camera lens protectors off Aliexpress and they are brilliant to protect the lens for the future. Sonys low to mid range camera lens use cheap plastic lens that scratch very easy which in turn give very blurry photos. Good tip for you all!

Been a fan since the geekzone Spark blog project and was given a beautiful Z1.  Wish I bought a case immediately though as the glass sides didn't take kindly to drops of any kind. Camera was easily a match for the Nokia 1020 and the first real underwater phone.

I am still tossing up getting a XZ Premium. It appears that the only colour available is chrome. Never been a fan of chrome I even hate it on cars.

I'm using a third hand Sony Z1, My used this and then upgraded a few times. I used a Note 2 for a few years until it broke. I had to turn to a backup and The Sony has been great. Onl recently has it started to slow down and got me thinking of upgrading.

I have been eyeing the XZ Premium or may be the Nexus 6P

And the chrome on the Premium is especially shiny, I don't like it. Had a look at a black one in Melbourne yesterday, looks way nicer.

Can you wait? New Xperia phones are on the MWC horizon

Sony press conference confirmed for day 1 of MWC, 26 February. I'm not sure if the following renders are the real thing - bezels look great, but what are those dots running across the top and bottom bezels - speakers? Not sure I like the look.

It's either a stylised speaker/mic/notifications/camera grill.....or an RGB strip ala Knight Rider. I'm hoping for the second..laughing

And, sadly, it looks almost certain the upcoming Xperia will drop the headphone jack - link here.

This surprises me, since audio is one of Sony's hallmarks. I accept that all phones will eventually drop the jack, I was just hoping it would hang around for one more Xperia.

The price is rumoured to be circa $US950 that would estimate it to be around $NZ1500  plus shipping costs

No headphone jack is disappointing, but not surprising. I was trying to think of the last time I used the headphone jack on my phone....and I can't actually remember as I either bluetooth or wifi my music mostly. Is still nice to have the option though. Guessing LG (with their quad DAC on the V30) will be the last holdout for the headphone jack as we know it.....

Latest leak of an alleged Xperia XZ2 compact in testing. Encouraging to see the reduced top and bottom bezels.
