Do you have the 6.1 or the 7 plus? It's upgrade time for me and the 7 plus is looking like a good option, just be keen to hear how you find the camera?

Thoughts on the 6.1? Had a look at one in the Spark store and its quite a nice looking unit. Be interested in the camera on that one too as could be a good phone for the Mrs.

I had a look yesterday at the 6.1.

It's a very nice looking handset. It's a bit big for me, but it feels great in hand and I like the reduced bezels and that it has a back that is not glass!

Best of all, Android One looks and feels absolutely great.

I may actually think about replacing my S7 Edge. Will keep my eye on reviews.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

It's a brilliant mid-range phone. The screen is really nice and it feels good on your hand. The camera is pretty good for the specs on the phone.

And it's all pure Android. This alone is bliss.

Just remember DSE is not a NZ company and you don't know if it is a parallel import like most of the parent company stuff.

Yep Android One is definately a big draw card for me. Glad to see Google pushing this more. It also seems many of the other OEMs are finally upping their game in terms of deploying security updates. I'd say the Android Enterprise Recommended program has help with this https://www.android.com/intl/en_nz/enterprise/recommended/

For anyone wondering about the SD660 it's basically as fast as the SD835. Biggest difference is its based on 14nm where the 835 is 10nm. The memory speed on the 660 is actually quicker.

These phones look great, HMD has really stepped up there game. If i wasn't going to get the OP6 i would probably grab the 7. There has also been a leak of the Nokia X and it's looking great.

TangoNZ: I'd say the Android Enterprise Recommended program has help with this https://www.android.com/intl/en_nz/enterprise/recommended/

It's good:

Android Enterprise Recommended helps ensure devices are up to date with regular security patches delivered within 90 days. Android Enterprise Recommended devices are also guaranteed to get at least one additional major OS update.

and not as good as Android One.

The X6 (which is what it's now being called) is being launched today in China, fingers crossed for a global release annnnnd for it to officially come to NZ. Snapdragon 636 looks good enough these days (looking at the Redmi Note 5 reviews on performance etc and benchmarks vs SD660).  Looking forward to a decently spec'd "normal sized" phone.
