Of course, you also do realise products cost MORE in NZ than the rest of the world right? Particularly electronics and mobile tech. New phone releases don’t launch lower than previous I thought most knew that. The previous History shows that.....

There was hardly any difference between the S8 and S9 and guess which one cost more?

It is forcasted to be priced similar to the note 8. Which is the most logical because of the identicle structure and design. I think i bought my note 8 for around $1499.

Ummm not sure what are you talking about?

Of course you can take an overseas price and use an exchange rate how on earth do you think products are purchased..??????? Do you think somehow they get to NZ’s tiny market for cheaper than the rest of the world?

“Forecasted to be priced similar to” no it’s not nearly every single article on the Note 9 says it has increased in price due to many features, larger screen and larger battery than the 8.

I’ll paint you a little picture. The note 4 launched at $1149 the Note 5 launched at $1299 the note 8 launched at $1599. I bet you $17xx is an absolute minimum.

Exactly. It has been said based on overseas leaked prices, that the 128gb note 9 will cost the same as the 64gb note 8. I will wager that the price will be similar, but will not at all break $1700.

Of course it costs more in nz, the geographic location (shipping and handling) and exchange system and demand is responsible for that. But that does not mean that that you can convert overseas retail products to ascertain the value of what a product will cost in NZ. Wholesale products go through a different handling system, that completely changes what is and is not.

Just because history shows each succesive generation is more expensive than the previous, does not mean that is always going to be the case. If it was, then by god i wont be able to afford it in 3 generations. Beyond that it will cost the same as a car. Haha.

Care to post a link. Every comment incl published then withdrawn pricing on Samsung’s overseas websites has stated around $100 USD more for the 128Gb. Keen to see where you think a new model with more storage will cost the same as an older model.

Thats what has been said, rumours are rumours. Im not claiming authenticity at all. But i do believe that pricings will be identicle to previous generation. I will not comment further on the issue.

Well you only need to wait 5 days to find out. I’d put money on either $1799 or $1849 for the 128Gb. Well over $2k for the 512Gb

Current phone has 128gb onboard, I’m yet to even tickle that due to heavily relying on cloud storage so no 64gb option is a bummer.

My current phone is 128Gb I cannot even fathom what people who rave about buying the 512Gb and putting in a 512Gb SD card are doing... My 128Gb is barely half full with over 4000 photos, 650 videos and 270 songs

Would it be worth to wait for the S10 to come out in a few months. Especially given the Note 9 will have a lot of reused hardware (from S9+).

The Note series used to be like the Mate series (from Huawei) where it would have the next generation stuff. But in the last couple of years, the S series (like the P series from Huawei this year) has become the next-gen stuff (eg Note 8 has a lot of reused components from S8+).

Note 9 may very well be the last "Note" to as Sammy looks to be focusing on the S line and other "models"

Just my opinion but I think Samsung have it 4rse about face.. the Note is the better of the 2 flagships, I always considered the Galaxy S as the beta or preview to what the Note will be but better.. as above Samsung are rehashing the S on the Note line which is crap.

As for 512gb of storage, that’s quite the overkill and a moot selling point for me. Don’t be like Apple and charge through the nose for the privilege of extra storage.
