But as I linked to a thread (just 5 minutes ago) with the orange idiot actually pushing to get chinese comms companies out of NZ and elsewhere, I'd recommend not buying one ATM.. AT LEAST until there's some sort of resolution to this. Because I know how hard it is to come across money for a new phone. And don't want to see someone left with a brick because a server in china is cut off from the outside world.

If you can guarantee this WON'T happen, all the better. But I can't, in fact it's looking more likely every day.

I also was an enthusiast, as you know, and I wasn't having a go at you.

Never realised you'd lost your sense of humour.

Edit: It's also the OP's wifes phone... I'm pretty sure everyone wants those to "just work", as we know how happy wives get when they don't.
