I'm considering the Lenovo Tab E8 or E10.

It's just for the kids for Youtube and to play Minecraft.

Apart from screensize, is there a significant difference? Both come with 1GB ram.

I found the E8 too slow for basic kids games and Netflix the ram is pretty low took it back swapped it for the tab 7 Samsung worth paying a bit more they are often on sale as well

Thanks. Surprised me that the kids never complained about the speed (when they played Minecraft) on the Amazon Fire 8HD.

I tried an Huawei as well games were constantly crashing manily the Lego ones. You could always try in the store also found with the Lenovo that the internal memory was tiny and could only fit a few games before the internal storage was full . I couldn't work out how to default apps to store on the SD card . It's hard to get a decent tablet around the 150 to 200 mark , the Samsung is great for the youngest child but ended up getting refurbished iPad mini for the older one which was around 300 but well worth it

Had no issues with ours still gets updates and battery life is pretty good charge at end of day if kids have been playing Minecraft or games for a few hours . Gets used every day with no issues. I use it if my iPad is flat for streaming or browsing sites. You can't use AR games on it though is only problem I found but Minecraft and Lego games work great

I bought a *very* cheap Galaxy Tab E 8" just to cast to our chromecast, which it does excellently (along with a bit of surfing and whatnot).  It's problem is that is an ex-Sprint machine, and longs for a Sprint sim... which can be ignored.    1-Day does have some good deals like this, so worth keeping an eye on what's there.  But I have had a lot of problems over the years with 1-Day things not working.  80% of the time they are OK.

What about this one?

Specs are amazing, aren't they (compared to anything else in that price range).

The scary part is that it only comes with a 30 day warranty...

Then I noticed this:

• WIFI: IEEE 802.11b / g / n transmission protocol

That's pretty slow, from what I understand, where the best is AC, right?

Cheap, good, fast, pick any two.

Cheap and good, won't be fast.

Good and fast, won't be cheap.

We have a couple of old Samsung Tab A 7" they are ok.  I had some cheap android tablets in the past that were faster, but did not last, or were just rubbish.

I might have seen E8 for $99 on a Harvey Norman tv ad.

Generic brand tablets : its a crap shoot.

Ive 2 friends who bought cheap Ch Brand tablets, they were really happy with them........ untll they all failed

4 Tablets between them . All failed .

My generic tablet was woefully slow & display so poor I couldnt use it sitting next to a window on a nice day (too dim).

"It's just for the kids for Youtube"

I found the YT app to be the worst . It required so much grunt. Not playing the actual vids, a cheapy Tab can do that, its the actuall YT app that needs the grunt.

All I use my Tablet for is Youtube. My ancient Samsung was fine until YT wouldnt work with the old YT app , Google forcing

to upgrade the app. Old app ran fast , new app ran like a dog . My Replacement Lenovo still didnt have enough grunt to run the YT app (laggy) so had to upgrade again to an even faster Tablet.

Ended up getting a Lenovo Tab 4 8 inch.
Reduced from $299 to $199. 2GB/16GB.
First impression is that it's pretty good.
Only negative thing is that it takes aaaages to charge. We're talking more than 6 hours. Will try again tonight, when it runs low to get a better idea.
Guy at checkout told me do get the $35 extended warranty (3 years). Bring it in in 2 1/2 years time and say battery has degraded quite a bit. I'll then get a new one, as battery can't be swapped on this model. Interesting to see if it works...
