freitasm:

There is one eatery in Wellington that will redirect to a spam site if you visit then from a Google search, and only on the first visit.

Reported to owners but still does it even after a year.

Would suggest you report that site to Google

Done. Just tested again in incognito and still happening. Thanks for the reminder.

I have had this same issue for the last 4 weeks or so on my Samsung Galaxy 9+. It sometimes happens on crash.net (motorsport website) but I haven't been able to figure out the cause. I will be interested to see if you figure out the cause.

I have had the same on gizmodo.com.au, after following a link to it from Feedly.

Annoyingly the RSS feed is that of Gizmodo US - the redirect powers are strong. Not related except for new annoying ad strategies, but double annoyingly it has started jumping to ads at the bottom of the page when you navigate 'back' making it a multi step process to go back to Feedly.

The gizmodo redirects are super annoying because the convert currency but dont put AUD infront of the article on the aussie site so you have to double check what you are looking at when seeing the prices of things. Ive unfollowed them on facebook because that crap is so frustrating to have happen. At least they have stopped the redirection to missing articles.

Oh, and they change the spelling of words on the au site so you have that stupid aussie spelling of jail on articles.
