I was looking at the Reno Z to replace my wife's Pixel (gen 1). It does look like a nice phone, but I did have a couple of issues when playing with it in store. For starters, it wasn't responding to Bluetooth media controls, which makes at an immediate no for my wife.

Hi nzgeek, this is OPPO NZ, what kind of Bluetooth devices were you trying to connect to the Reno Z? We're they connecting and having difficulty with maintaining the connection?

I had connected a set of Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. These have media controls via gestures on the right rear cup, e.g. up and down change the volume.

On the Pixel phones, if you change the volume via the headphones, the volume UI displays and you can see the Bluetooth media volume changing. It does this regardless of whether media is playing or not.

On the Reno Z, if you change the volume via the headphones, nothing happens. The headphones beep to indicate that the gesture was recognised, but the phone doesn't respond. If hit a volume button on the phone to show the UI, it confirms that the Bluetooth controls are having no effect.

We had similar issues with a Xiaomi Mi A2 (Android One) and our car's head unit, so perhaps there's a hidden seeing somewhere that the Pixels have on by default.

We have tested this feature out with Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. We have observed that the volume controls for the headphones and the phone remain separate, which should not be the case. This has been reported and we look forward to having this fixed in a future update.

The setting is usually Developer Options-> Absolute Volume. Some devices work and sync Bluetooth volume with headset controls, some don't.

I still cannot get the AAC codec to work on the Reno 10x FWIW, but AptX, LDAC, and SBC are good to go as expected.
