My advice, dont spend any time trying to use limiting apps.

Any app lifecycle or system update could break the functionality. And dont forget the teenager will also try and circumvent your restrictions.

You will have much better success with getting some life lessons in for your teenager about paying attention to how they use things/what they are doing as well as consequences of not doing so...

Agree, just get in the routine of only turning on mobile data when required. That's how I managed until gave in and spend an extra $6 a month.

I’ve personally put the kids on Vodafone companion plans ($15/each, special via online chat) and then put callbars for premium/international in. A. It works out to be better value than prepaid and B. There is no fluffing around with balances or usage. If they use 12GB or more, they get throttled but that’s still enough to stream.

I do run device management on both devices (content filtering, App Store restrictions etc) but I do not employ any bandwidth restriction tools.

Seriously?... Let me quote from an earlier post I made:

Please note, this was a query for technical solutions to a specific problem, not for parenting advice; if that’s what I’m after I wouldn’t post in an Android-specific forum!

I understand such advice may be well-meaning, but when I expressly pointed out this wasn't wanted why does it continue to be offered?!

Thanks to those who have offered practical solutions within the scope of my query; mods, happy for this thread to be closed as I feel it's achieved its purpose and I'm really not keen on receiving any more life lessons of my own.
