The SE X10 is a worthy phone. That one....I *would* buy.

Also...to be fair to the LG GW-620....It isn't a terrible phone. It's a good phone. If the price was right it could easily be excellent value. But $699 is too high in my books. Maybe $499....which is what the HTC Magic phones are selling for brand new on TradeMe with a 1yr warranty.

Jesus. It's much kore expensive than iPhone. Why is that? iPhone is already prohibitively expensive. And this one is even more. This Sony x10 is a excellent alternative to iPhone. But I wonder if I wanna switch. Does android have a new Zealand local android market?? I don't wanna use British pound.

What about Telecom bringing out iPhone equivalent plans for the Android category? Maybe this entry-Android subsidised to $0 on contract?

There are cheaper Android phones on TradeMe, including Nexus One, SE X10, Samsung Galaxy and various HTC Magic, Hero, Legend, Tattoo, as well as Motorola Milestone.

Or order one direct from overseas. It's easy and only takes a few days. Expansys has two new cheap android phones from Acer. One comes with Android v2.1.

As for the Market, if you by something it gives you an estimate first of the price in NZ dollars. The original currency doesn't really matter. It's just a number....and they are almost all less than it costs to buy a filled roll.

Some motorola one and a htc hero work on XT. But their specs are too inferior to iPhone and slower too

Good that Telecom is getting into the Android game also.

Not sure if i really like the Sony X10's UI. Hardware wise, perhaps it has an edge over the HTC Desire.

- Telstra HTC Touch Pro2 - Energy ROM WM6.5.5 20 Oct/Cyanogen Mod Froyo 2.2 - R.I.P
- AT&T Galaxy S Captivate 16GB on XT (now with brother)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 on XT- Runs ICS 4.0.3 Resurrection Remix 9.2

From what I have read of the x10 its overpriced buggy crap that runs slow. Hass there been an update or something? Why do people still like it?

To be honest. I haven't seen somebody walking around with a android phone on his hand yet, not in NZ. I did see some, only one or two, when I was in china and Singapore. But iPhone has been everywhere, especially in Singapore, as far as I know. iPhone is everywhere in NZ too.

Seeing I've posted some pictures of the LG, I managed to get some of the Sony Ericsson X10 as well. I am told it's possible I will have one of these next week for review:

None of the LG spec sheets or info from any sites indicates what CPU the 620 has. I agree that it looks a little cheap compared to other models, I guess in a very short time they will be price reduced as always happens and therefore more attractive to the market, at least they have a smart phone option.

Cheers
Cyril

Reviews say the UI is laggy even with 1Ghz processor. Would a imported HTC Incredible work on XT?
