If you needed to do this why not just 1 small mirror, at the back, that reflects your image into the camera lens. That way you still get to see and interact with the UI on the front.

Try it. The camera picks up a lot more than the mirror. If it doesn't, then the mirror is so close your face won't be part (or won't be a large part) of the image transmitted.
Cameras on phones tend to be quite wide-angle.
