Is there a way to change the butt ugly voice during navigation? She always sounds she has something such in her throat!

I'm working from the position that it at least works properly now....whatever it sounds like. :-)

It should work on Android v1.6 and above.

n4: I've been using Brut Maps for a little while and the last two versions have been much better, quite usable now. Don't forget to turn on the caching options, that can really cut down on mobile date use.

i can't find this option?

Of course after posting that question I played a bit more and found its set to cache by default...
Seems it wil onyl cache one thing at a time, ie you can't save a trip and select it after you have done another trip

Hi there,

Loaded it on my Hero 2.1
Fantastic.. impressed and used it on a twelve dollar holder that sticks to windscreen from Parallel Import.

Cheers as this was my first brut download apk to an sd card.

I've been testing it a bit and it works great.
Recalculates quite fast too!

I don't know If I 've missed it, but I thought you could save maps/trips on your sd and go back to them later. I can't find how to do that.
Sure you can load it up, turn off data and use that stored map. But once you load another, or turn it off you can't pick it up from your sd.
I thought that was the whole point.... Or am I missing something obvious?

I too can confirm it works on a 2.1 Hero (use it often here). Additionally, I used the map caching to store maps of Melbourne before I left and it worked brilliantly there over the weekend, without any roaming data requirement. I didn't use the turn by turn function though because that does require data and the attendant hienous roaming data charges.

re my post above I cannot find how you can do that.
Best i can do is one map and use it. If you need another you lose the first....
And if you exit out of nav, you have to turn data back on and start again.

Take a look under menu - more - Brut mod, there are two caching related check boxes.

Should cache any area you view.

I have: Menu -> more and then the options:
clear map
starred items
labs
help
terms privacy etc
about

Nothing about caching or any boxes to tick in those.....
Do I have an old version or something? version 4.1.0
