I will restrict myself to stuff I have downloaded. Most of the built in stuff is pretty good. I have a nexus one, it is a very cool phone.
Most used app: Brain Genius Deluxe - I love this game and play it daily, free and fun.
Battery Monitor: great little app that tells me how much battery life is remaining, and if you are interested there are a few stats about power usage.
Shazam: tells you what you are listening to. If I end up using the free version more I will buy it, but I have only had my phone for 5 weeks so not too sure yet.
Handy Calc: Kinda like mobile matlab/octave, as an engineer an awesome calculator can come in handy.
AppBrain / Fring for 5th spot: AppBrain = better market. Fring just cause it is cool to use my mobile as a phone over WiFi to call people on G-Talk and many other clients (stupid skype for blocking it)
Soundhog - way better than shazam - faster and recognises more.. costs more though. root explorer - file manager for rooted phones Titanium backup - backs up applications and system data and even restores market links xbmc remote - awesome app for controlling your home media centre. y5 battery saver - turns off wifi when you arent in a area with wifi, remembers locations that have wifi you want and turns it back on. battery saving! appbrain and fast webinstaller browse apps at appbrain then send them ota to your phone, also syncs them back etc. allshare - stream movies from your media centre to your phone (samsung only?) imageshrink - awesome app, when you choose to send photos it asks what size you want to shrink them to. one click shrinking, leaves originals untouched.
Launcher Pro - free - http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.fede.launcher - replacement for touch whiz, sense UI etc... - it's not really necessary to get the pay version, free version very powerful - Change dock icons - Change dock bar - Scrollable dock icons - Toggle Make the background wallpaper fixed - have 5 rows of widgets on home instead of 4 - hide notification bar - change number of home screens, change default home screen - landscape homescreen - app draw, with ability to hide apps you don't use
Folder Organizer - free - http://sites.google.com/site/folderorganizer/ - create folders that pop up with apps - change the folder text / icon - add custom labels to apps / contacts / settings / etc... - create custom shortcut icon that will pop up and display everything that has ur custom label - more powerful that app below
App Organizer - free - http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.google.code.appsorganizer - Similar to Folder organizer, by the same author - less options, just let's you create a a label shortcut or widget on the home screen with custom icon that pops up with a list of apps you create.
These apps are used on my N1 and they're the ones i would use on an almost daily basis: Cubed Music player - Music player 3G Watchdog - Keeps track of my 3g useage and lets me know when i'm nearing the end of it Advanced Task killer - Helps me kill apps faster AndExplorer - File explorer from within OS Automount - Auto mounts the SD card when USB is plugged in Gallery Enabler - Lets me choose which folders appear in the gallery app Google Sky - Just neat and showcases the awesome Handcent - SMS app Kindle - Lets me read my kindle books and syncs with the Kinlde and KindlePC for the latest page read Locale - Mutes the phone when in lectures, stops flashing lights overnight and so on Photography Assistant - Helps define some photography settings when i'm playing with film Pure Calendar - Handy calendar app, i'm sure there are better ones but this one does what i need Trackball Alert - Not sure if i need this now that i'm on CM6 but it changes the trackball alert colours Ultimate Stopwatch - Nice stopwatch and countdown timer
