i even like swyping short words, with tapping you have to be 100% accurate, but if i swype it, if i'm slightly off it doesn't matter.

martyyn: Where can we get Swype from?

Ive been wanting to try it but its not on the Market

Try SlideIt. It's virtually identical....and it's in the Market.

Swype has received more press and there's more buzz.....but I've used both and SlideIt is so close to being the same thing, I bought it instead.

Swype expires....it's a beta. SlideIt won't expire.

Isn't Swype on the Galaxy S Preinstalled and a full version?

All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.

Yeah, it comes with the Galaxy S. It has to be turned on via settings.

Bought it yesterday. EUR6 was a bit steep but I absolutely love it :)

The keyboard is a little less pretty than the stock one, but its been so easy to get into and its recognition has so far been tip-top.

Definately a keeper for me.

Good. The reasons I say "try it" is you're able to get a full refund in the first 24 hours.....so it is possible to give an app a really good go for an evening and then get a full refund by bedtime if you don't like it.

Swype full on the Galaxy S
Swype Beta on the Galaxy Spica Lite

Prefer Swype full, Swype beta does get a lot more words wrong, but it'll improve, I'd buy the full version for my wife if it was available, find it hard going back to touch texting or even a keypad on a phone now

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

As far as i know apple's walled garden prevents you from changing the keyboard.

In comparison searching keyboard in the android market results in 30+ results for alternative keyboards

After reading the various plaudits for the alternatives have given SlideIt a whirl and have been very impressed. Liking the way you can teach it your swipe (ing) style so that it can compensate for your inaccuracy ...bigger keys also helpful !
