My one should be back in the country today, 2 months after sending it away for a replacement :( bloody slow post/service!!!

If I remember correctly, it did run PDFs, the brightness isn't too bright for them, but if you are just reading it's fine.  Will try get you a video up in the next few days, really hoping it doesn't arrive broken though :S

Ok latest news on mine, got it back yesterday...after 2 months

It's damaged, while it does power on now, the case is extremely damaged, getting my credit card to do a charge back against bloody Paypal after they declined a refund!!!

Would recommend avoiding these, if you have issues it'll take too long to get a replacement now. As all the companies overseas have gotten rid of their Rock chips except one on the Chinese traders websites. Hiapad who produce them, are stopping the Rockchip and producing the Telechip instead, which also means 1.5 will be the only Android version on it!

Will post a slightly broken review this weekend, but at the moment I"m just too pissed off at the situation to make one now sorry :( Thinking after I get the charge back, I'll remove it from the extremely damaged case and make an Android carPC project to completely my Windows carPC

vinnieg,

Did you get yours from dealextreme or elsewhere?

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I got mine from a seller on Slatedroid.com eh, now that seller has disappeared, have to say though, they aren't worth 250, I'd pay $150 at the most or even get an Eken!!

Mine was the metal case version, 003 of the red LED models

And still they managed to damage it...if anyone wants to see the internals during the review I'll happily include those in the shots too

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Buying stuff at great distance is at best a hopeful business. :-)

Show the insides of you have time. That's always good.

Yeah will do :) easy to show the insides when it's this damaged :S

Any ideas of what to make it into?

7" is perfect for a double DIN car headunit, with an amp/volume controller behind it...

Or Android Touchscreen BBQ MP3 stereo was another idea...

Can you mount it on the fridge and use it as a dueal shopping list/recipe book?

Hmmm, I probably could actually, that's a good idea, just gotta rip the metal case off, make a perspex mount and then attach it to the frige :) thanks for that

Could also use it to stream Wifi pictures across from the PC when I'm not using it for recipes
