Dingbatt: Using 8pen to write this. Doesn't seem that difficult, just not as fast as others. But I'm sure that would come with practice

I'm impressed but then you might have been "typing" that for half an hour Wink
I am going to stick with SlideIT or SwiftKey as I like the prediction and learning. Trying the latter for 20 minutes it said I saved 33% of keystrokes.

That keyboard looks like far to much effort to use. I'm finding swype to be very quick and everyone who's seen it has been pretty amazed how it works.

No not half an hour.
The above is the first thing I had tried to write using 8pen.  I was about as quick at inputting it as I was when Mavis Beacon first started to teach me to touch type.  The 23 words took me about 5 minutes by the time I corrected any errors.  Bear in mind it has pretty good prediction, so once you have half completed a word it is probably listed and can be selected.
I fully admit I much prefer SlideIT and Graffiti (and have used both extensively since posting the passage above) but can see how drawing little circles on 8pen, particularly when there are repetitive letter sequences, could produce muscle memory akin to touch typing.

As far as learning it goes.  Start in the centre, enter the sector where the target letter is, circle left or right through the number of sectors corresponding to how far out along the arm the target letter is, and then go back to the centre circle.  Without lifting your finger start on the next letter.
