lchiu7: Just saw a tweet from Googlenexus.

The message is as above but also to note that it could take a few weeks for OTA to complete.

Would be interested to see how soon we get it here.

My Nexus One is waiting. Nothing yet. :-)

Same here, it's the first time that I've done a manual update and it was simple enough to do.

By the way, I'm on Telecom. The linked update doesn't break the 850 MHz support or anything like that :)

i think the Google Voice is in the rom thats why you can not remove it

OK It looks like this is problem afflicting a few users. There is a view that it's only affecting those who are doing manual updates and are outside the US since GV isn't supported outside of the US. But a posting by a Google employee on their support forums tends to suggest otherwise. This is supported by the fact that a T-Mobile user in the US also has this problem.

Anyway an enterprising user has extracted the apk file for GV from a HTC phone and posted it. That installs fine on my N1 but it doesn't survive a reset so after a reset I have to reinstall the apk. That's a bit strange.

Ok so here something weird i found in gingerbread,

When I plug in the usb cable, and click USB connected in the notification bar. The button to Turn on USB storage says Turn off USB storage,.

Clicking it turns on usb storage, and the button still says Turn off USB storage.

Not a biggie, just interesting. Anyone else have that?

Yeah....I've done it before....and I'm too lazy now. I can wait. There isn't much in v2.3 that's better than v2.2.2.

Well some of the editing stuff is quite nice. Moving the cursor around on the N1 now is actually easier than using the trackball. I suspect that was done because the Nexus S has no trackball.

You can install that on earlier versions anyway.

The improved text selection is nice though, no more rolling the trackball to copy and paste

Apparently the update changes the color temp of the Nexus S screen. Might want to Google it before applying as most people don't like it.

I use "SlideIt" keyboard. It's a 'swipe' keyboard......but isn't Swype....It's better. :-)

Hmm, might have to give it a go. I have Swype but I found, under 2.2, that it was faster to use the built-in keyboard. It's a good concept though so I'll need to try out SlideIt. Thanks for the suggestion :)

It hasn't appeared for my N1 yet.

It's a pain if it doesn't fix that WiFi bug, which is continuing to annoy me. Does anyone know if anything can be done at the router to fix?
