ENZvince:
androidmnz: Galaxy S2 or LG Optimus 2X. Both are no brainers for media and games. S2 would be my preference.

Is that the 3D LG phone? be quite keen to see what the 3D one is like :)

No the 2X is the speedy LG phone. I've had a play with it and it's good. ALthough the one I used had an early software build.

Here's the LG 3D, looks awesome.

The HTC EVO 3D and the LG 3D look nice...hmmm...looks like I'll only have the S2 for a short time.

I think the cpu/gpu in the Evo 3d is going to be the big winner this generation

Galaxy S i9001 is also worth a look. It's a Galaxy i9000 on steroids (larger 1650mAh battery / 1400Mhz Single Core CPU / Adreno 205 GPU)

April/May

Vodafone staff have said April according to the ones who travelled to the Samsung Conference late last month.

The rest of the world have said May(newspapers, blogs, US Phone employees)....so it's too hard to say.  It might be April in Korea(and hopefully NZ as it's first release) and the rest of the world in May

Either way, I better start putting some more money aside!

Forgot to add, has anyone else noticed that the Galaxy S2 seems to have a quadband HSPDA/3G chipset inside?  Doing 850/900/1900/2100 bands....

That means, easy switching with no weak spots in most places, 2degrees, voda, XT.  Means there won't be a Galaxy S2 T for Telecom/Telstra

That's the main attraction of the S2 for me.  Quad 3G bands for NZ..

Some of these phones look amazing. The next iPhone will have to be REALLY good to keep up with them.

Best current projection on release date is May, would not be suprised to see further delays though to be honest.

The i9001 is a nice little upgrade on the i9000 in most respects, its GPU is not like the i9000's on 'roids though, its quite a bit weaker.

If youre willing to wait theres always the HTC Pyramid even though it hasnt been officially announced yet. Cant go wrong with a large qHD screen and it looks pretty damn sexy if you ask me! :D

i9000 has PowerVR SGX540 which is a little better than the Adreno 205. I think a 1.4ghz Snapdragon will more than make up for it - especially if the Adreno gpu is overclocked also.
