Thing is, why not get a 3D TV? The prices are coming down, quickly and in some instances they offer a better 2D picture.

Kopkiwi: I just bought an OPtoma HD66 3D ready projector from ebay for $800NZD including shipping. I already have a PS3 Slim, I got a 3D-Displayer which allows 3D blu-ray and gaming with 3 sets of glasses for a total of $500NZD.

So a total of $1300NZD I have a 3D 120" 3D projector in my living room. Personally, at that size, I think it's a bloody steal.

How does this setup perform?

3D is not going anywhere, more and more movies are being made in 3D, people want that cinema experience at home so that technology will make it into peoples living rooms, and as more and more content is available things will speed up...

Will let you know when the dam thing arrives. USPS taking their sweet time. Because of the long weekend it took a little while to get shipped. But I will be sure to post some impressions once It's all set up to go.
