tdgeek: ---Meanwhile, Apple iFans can rejoice in some good iPhone market share news for a change. :-)---
No, thats incorrect. You cannot expect one phone to match a myriad of other phones of various price points, thats ridiculous. If Android and all its phones were that cool, then one non Android phone will occupy a very very small market share. Maybe you can compare one iPhone4 with one similarky speced Android phone such as one model of the Galaxy. Similar phone, similar price, thats a head to head.
I don't understand your point. This thread is about the Android platform and its performance. I've just posted that in the US, Apple has taken some market share back with a great quarter which has seen its smartphone platform gain share while Android's growth was stagnant.
Incorrect? Only if Apple's iOS smartphone platform didn't gain share after all. Is that what you mean? If so, you're saying Neilsen are wrong. Maybe they are. Have you a link that shows that? If so, I'd like to see that.
And why do you say it's only one phone? There's iP4 and 3Gs. That's two phones. They're entirely different models as you surely know. Yeah, it's only one manufacturer. That's Apple's choice. But it makes no difference to the topic of this thread, which is Android's growth. Or lack of it.
Your posts are beginning to take on the manner of fanboyism. This was never a thread about model vs model. If you'd like to have that conversation, feel free to start a thread with that as its premise. I'll gladly contribute if you do, as I said earlier.
