I use miui from here: http://forums.miuiandroid.com/forumdisplay.php?60-Huwaei-U8800, keep updated weekly. Phone runs smoothly with no obvious bug. No trouble with Wifi (it's call WLAN thou)。The only big issue is: you can switch between internal memory or SD card, but you cant have them both "seen" at the same time.
Im happy with MIUI now.. Only gripe would be no way to sort contacts by first name but that was overcome by using Go Contacts.. Now to see how the battery life goes :). I ran the partition program and made the data part bigger, reducing the internal SD Card as theres not much point to it if you cant even use it :). Means I dont have to run Link2SD or anything anymore which is very fine with me.
What did you use to repartition the internal drive? I see genokolar has a post on xda for it, but I want to hear a few more success stories bafore doing it.

Took all of 5 mins.. Didnt bother with a custom one though, just used the default. Although from what I can gather if you do a custom one dont make it any bigger than 2048mb..
been on 28-Dec official 2.3.5 for a few days (waiting for shops to reopen to buy micro sdhc card then found out one can copy the dload folder to internal sd to upgrade). rooted and trimmed following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
being a white x5 with the "inferior" atmel touch screen, I did found out the screen becoming super sensitive yet lagging at same time. The swipe unlock response is a tiny better (pin pad is a lot better) than stock 2.2.1, but I can trigger click events while putting fingers to a few mm above the screen.
my other main complain is volume keys no longer wake up device.
other than that, the stock 2.3.5 seems to be an overall improvement and I'm not going back. didn't have (frequently reported) issues with boot loop or missing calls (have full sig strength at home when tested though). battery improved as well.
message removed from the dialer tab, but the unlock screen provide shortcuts to messing, dialer, camera and unlock (to home).
In huawei forum an employee mentioned a OTA plan "before February" and chance of including some user feed backs.
I would probably try turning vsync off next http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427386
hopefully the OC'd kernel for stock 2.3.5 gets a volume boost and I'll give that a try as well.
Nice, cheers for the update, I cant seem to get into the menu on oxygen to find out what screen I have, so I am just sticking with oxygen for now and hoping that devs work on the .35 kernel to bring it up to spec.
