Not sure I'd use such a connection, but it still sounds like a good thing/idea.

Specially if you're got a 128GB microSDXC card.

... oh an a device the does exFAT would just top it off.

What does HDMI give you in this field? Not having looked into it myself.

Still front page for me? 467 votes, risen some 50 or so places in last couple of days (I note that issue review doesn't seem to happen in a top-down fashion, and a number of other issues in this vote range have been reviewed, so there is a chance it will happen sooner rather than later).

Unfortunately, given that the 2nd item on the first page is from 2008 and still hasn't been looked at, I wouldn't hold my breath. I suspect anything that involves changing the way Google does things gets extremely low priority, things that effect _only_ Android and are completely independant probably stand better chance by the look of it.

This is an Android-only issue, so hoping for a fix (especially since this isn't difficult).

Hadn't checked for a few days - 755 now, nice bump since last I checked! I noted that someone at Head-Fi forums shared my post there with another audiophile forum so that might account for that.

I just noticed that WebOS supports USB audio devices, so I may need to give this a blast on my HP TouchPad. It does mean I need to find my USB audio device which is who-knows-where after moving house recently :)

That said, the audio quality out of the TouchPad is pretty good anyway, so it's less of an issue. It supports "Beats audio" although I can't hear any difference with it on or off, might be specific to the namesake overpriced headphones.
