Dingbatt: Oh and a couple of other things because the mobile gz site won't let me edit.

Hopefully the signal strength isn't due to htc using the same formula Apple did for the iPhone ;).

I set my phone to NZ by using morelocale2 (free from android market).

Will give that a go, HTC sense.com says my phone is somewhere off the coast of Guinea at present,LOL.

jords12: I found it a little hard also, but I've got the otterbox commuter on my phone now which fixes that and the sound buttons. Protected my phone from a drop from chest height into pavement with no damage to the phone or the case also.

The otterbox commuter looks nice, where did you order it from?, i'm having trouble with the credit card authoization from the otterbox us site. Cheers

I also got a otterbox case on my desire HD. Feels very solid. Ordered mine from their website as well, I also got the credit card problem but I just click next or continue and it worked for me.

If you can buy it from anywhere else I suggest you do so. My order still says order processing online nearly a month after I got my case and they never respond to emails about whats going on with the product or give you any tracking number or anything. I just waited three and a half weeks and it turned up on my door step

Yeah i had same problem, no success so far ordering it.

If anyone knows somewhere else where we can get one let me know.

I ordered from otterbox.com . Worked fine for me, although the same order showed 4 times in their system. They are nice but busy and not that well organised I think.

I ordered a Case-Mate barely there case from Clove. Arrived in 8 days. Quality is fantastic and does not add any bulk. A real + point is the added grip when holding the phone.

wow i was really keen on the Otterbox Commuter case but now i'm not 100% sure after hearing about the issues you guys have been having. anyone else ordered from there? and 3 weeks for shipping!

Does anyone have the time to tell me a liitle more about custom ROMs like cyanogen and clockwork mod?
The Sense interface is nice, i like friendstream, but locations is a bit of a waste for me(what's it for?) can someone with an iphone use it to see where you are?

Whats the advantage and disadvantages? for example what would updates like 2.3 come thru on a costom ROM?

if your on a custom rom then you don't get updates, but when a new version of the custom rom comes out you can update via installing the new custom rom.

OMG!!!

Package just arrived today, opened it up... NOT IMPRESSED!
They sent me an HTC Desire, NOT a Desire HD.

Invoice says 1 HTC-DESHD – HTC Desire HD

The delays and delays are one thing, but sending the wrong phone to me after waiting just over 2 weeks for shipping ontop of nearly 2 months for stock it is just not on.

Really not impressed with Clove right now.

Yeah, i've been waiting for my Desire Z case since the 30th of november, if it's not here by end of next week, i'll be issuing a charge back on my CC, I think

Wow that's terrible. They should be, at least, sending you a dhd cross shipped with the fastest shipping they can. If they don't post here, we ordered 4 dhd from them (still waiting for two of them) so should have some pull.

Wow that better not happen with mine. I'm pissed off enough about the situation.

I've had news that mine is now at customs. so at least it's in the country, if it's the right phone.
